Awesome Family... Awesome Day

Two things that make today awesome:

#1- my hubby bought me a new can opener and other fun kitchen things (muffin pans, silpat, rolling pin) just because.

#2- my daughter has been carrying around an unopened box of thin mints all day. "Mommy, I really really really think we should have one of these!" She even has a bowl ready.

Fun at the Aquarium!

Nothing like spending a day off from school just being a Mom.  We mentioned the Aquarium this morning to Allyson and she went CRAZY!  "I get my backpack!"  She had a blast!

On the way.  Reading a toy store catalog.

Checking out the rock fish.  Notice the backpack!

Getting ready to play with a HUGE parachute.

Under the parachute.

HUGE octopus parachute!

Hiding under the parachute.

Checking it all out!

In the dome looking for starfish.

Just sitting around after watching the otters and fur seals get fed.

Back to the touch tank.

We watched this huge Pacific Octopus get to walk around the tank.  2 divers kept it in check!

Bathtime

In the midst of a crazy bubble bath tonight the following conversation happened.  She is SO funny!!

Mommy- Allyson you crack me up!
Allyson- What? You are an egg?
Mommy- (laughing)
Allyson- You are an egg?!?  I am going to eat you up! Here come my jaws!!

Dave's Day

Dave had a Daddy Day this morning while Allyson and I went to the Y.  When we got home Allyson decided he needed some flowers.  The yellow crocus in the front yard are blooming.  After careful examination, Allyson chose some for Daddy.

Dave also spent some time down in the workshop just making stuff so he could make stuff.  He took a break from purposeful cleaning just to make something totally pointless.  He decided to use some vellum he had laying around and do some redecorating.

He printed random pictures of his onto the vellum and then sliced it apart, wove it together, and taped it to the bottom of a few "chicken coop" lights.  It looks really cool!

Allyson is 3! More video fun!

It was requested that I post a picture or video of Allyson's blue cupcakes.  So here you go!

We also took a little video.  If you are interested you can click this link:

Birthday Fun!

Making cupcakes!
Allyson sure enjoyed her birthday today!  After waking up from her nap, we decided to make some birthday cupcakes while we waited for Dave to get home.  Of course, they were blue.  :)

When Dave got home, she finally got to see what was under the blanket in the living room.  I haven't heard her giggle like that in a while!  The rest of the evening was filled with doll house fun as you can see below.  It was a busy time as all the furniture was taken out and put in the "front yard."  I can see many hours of fun ahead!

Finally getting to peak under the blanket!

Oh! The furniture comes out!

Mommy and Allyson playing together.

Kisses for Daddy.  Thanks for the birthday roses!

And back to the doll house!
Last words before going to sleep, "Mommy I play with my dollhouse?"

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!!

Waking Up

Allyson is starting to wake up from her nap.  She is moaning and creaking just like when she was a little baby.  I love listening to her wake up noises.

When she finally wakes up this afternoon she is getting her "big" birthday present.  We are giving her my dollhouse from when I was a little girl.  It is all set with new furniture and a family.  I think she is going to have a blast rearranging the pieces and making it just right.  :)

Dave is coming home soon with flowers and a balloon for her.  He is such a good Daddy!

The rest of her birthday night involves making something (cookies or cupcakes!) and macaroni and noodles for dinner.   I hope she has a fantastic birthday!

Noises have turned to singing.  That is my cue!
