Daddy Day

After three days of school all day, I think Allyson was missing her Daddy just a bit.  She is used to having him around to play with throughout the day.  So today was all about Allyson playing with Daddy.

The day started with some serious Lego building.  I am talking hours of Lego building!  The results were pretty impressive.  Dave helped Allyson build a motor powered car.  She figured out how to keep the motor on top of the car so it will run farther.

After a quick outing, they were back at it!  This time it was all about rockets!  Dave used a pneumatic canon from a long ago project as a rocket launcher for air rockets.  Allyson helped decorate and tape together two totally awesome rockets.

Once built, we headed to the church yard to see how far they would fly!

After rockets, it as apparently time for more tools.  Allyson wanted to build something so they headed back to Daddy's studio.  Notice the safety gear! :). First up, hammering nails!

Then came sawing.

And then drilling!

Not sure where the safety goggles went...

Blowing out her newly drilled hole.

And of course some pictures of Daddy! (Taken by Allyson, of course!)

More drilling with a new drill bit.

Apparently she finds it easier to drill while sitting down.

To wrap up the day, more Legos!

A fantastic day spent with Daddy!!

  2. Karyn and David, you guys are such awesome parents...she is one lucky little girl to have you and vice versa. Sounds a lot like David's dad. I remember coming to visit and going to the science center and David telling us how many times his daddy had taken him there and everything they did while they were there. (Miss your dad a lot David) Thanks for sharing this! Wonderful memories for all!!
