We know that Allyson has had some basic sight words for a while now. She learned "up" and "no" in books maybe a year ago. She has been finding letters on the pages when we read together almost every night since. A few nights ago, we were playing with her chalk board and I wrote "I love you." I asked her if she knew what it said. "Yep. I love you."
So I made it more of a challenge.
She read the following sentences without much problem. She sometimes says "Mom" for "Mommy" but them goes back and self-corrects!
Here is what she read:
Allyson loves Mommy.
Allyson loves Daddy.
Mommy and Daddy love Allyson.
Allyson loves the cat.
Allyson loves Allyson. (This one made her laugh!)
That's our girl!! :)
